FIDReC Accreditation of Mediators (specialised in financial disputes)

Overview

FIDReC specialises in the mediation and resolution of financial disputes. It has handled and resolved more than 10,000 financial disputes.

FIDReC is also recognised on the international stage. It has handled more than 500 financial disputes involving foreign complainants from 35 countries.

FIDReC has hosted foreign government, industry and academic delegations from all over the world, as well as international consultants and project managers from the World Bank Group, ASEAN and the United Nations.

The FIDReC Accreditation of Mediators (specialised in financial disputes) Scheme ensures the high standards and quality of FIDReC's Mediators by setting requirements for, amongst other things, competence in mediation skills as well as actual experience in mediation and the successful resolution of financial disputes.

All FIDReC Mediators have to successfully complete the FIDReC Training Programme for Mediators of Financial Disputes (FTPM) before they can be accredited as a FIDReC Accredited Mediator (specialised in financial disputes).

To encourage continuous learning and the achievement of greater levels of competence and expertise, Mediators who satisfy more stringent requirements will be awarded higher levels of Accreditation - Advanced, Merit and Distinction.

In general, a period of 12 to 18 months is required to attain a Level 1 FIDReC Accreditation.

From 4 March 2021, FIDReC has been recognised as a Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI) Qualifying Assessment Program. This means that FIDReC has met the international standards set by SIMI for administering a mediation service as well as providing mediation training.
